ANASTASIIA SHILOVSKAIA ("we", "us", or "our") built BotanicaLashes as a paid iOS application. This page explains what data we collect, why, and how it is used.
BotanicaLashes accesses your device camera and photo library to apply virtual lash overlays on images you choose. All image processing is performed locally on your device. No photos or images are uploaded to our servers or any third-party server.
To position the virtual lash overlay correctly, BotanicaLashes analyzes the photo you provide to detect the outline of your eyes (eyelid contour and inner/outer corners), using Google ML Kit and, as a fallback, Apple's Vision framework. This analysis runs entirely on your device — the photo, the detected face, and the eye-contour coordinates are never transmitted to our servers, to Google, or to any other third party. This data exists only in the app's memory for the duration of your editing session, is used solely to render the lash overlay, and is discarded — not saved to disk, not backed up, not synced to iCloud or any server — as soon as you select a different photo or close the app. BotanicaLashes does not perform facial recognition or identification: on-device detection only locates eye landmarks for cosmetic overlay positioning and cannot be used to identify who is in the photo.
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect your device identifier and purchase history to process and validate your subscription. For details, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
BotanicaLashes is not directed to children under 4. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
